

Frank J. Chervenko Jr, 71, passed away on Wednesday, March 19, 2025, at The Gibson Family Center for Hospice Care surrounded by family. He was born November 24, 1953, to Frank Chervenko Sr and Norma Jean (Gobin) Chervenko.
Frank graduated from Lincoln High School in Vincennes, Indiana in 1972. He began his career at the former Anaconda plant in Terre Haute, Indiana and finished it at US Steel in northern Indiana. Frank was a member of the Hungarian Hall. He enjoyed astronomy and watching the satellites in the sky. He was a huge animal lover and could be found sitting in his yard watching the birds. He could be found watching the GRIT channel and enjoyed westerns and black and white movies.
In 1982, Frank married Robin (Smith) and she preceded him in death in 2018. Frank is also preceded in death by his parents, Frank Sr and Norma Jean, a niece, Jeana Rose Lunsford and a special friend, Sue Scott. Also greeting him in Heaven are multiple pets.
Frank is survived by daughter, Brooke (Scott) Miller; a brother, Richard Meredith; a sister, Laura (Wayne) Lunsford; grandchildren, Alexandria Acosta, Drew Whitt, and Morghan Miller; a great grandson, Jasper Walker and a host of nieces and nephews.
Per Frank’s wishes, cremation has been chosen. There will be a memorial service for Frank on Saturday, April 12, 2025, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home at 2:00pm. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 12:00pm until service time. There will also be a celebration of life for Frank at Hungarian Hall at 2049 N. 22nd Street, Terre Haute, Indiana on May 10th and guests are free to come and go anytime between 2 and 6pm.
In lieu of flowers, donations can me made in Frank’s memory to a local animal shelter or rescue.
