Gertrude Marie Plummer

She was born May 2,1931 at her grandparents’ home James and Mary Hoke near Heckland Indiana in northern Vigo County to Thomas and Vallie (Hoke) Hicks.

She graduated from Fontanet high school 1949 where she met the love of her life, Arthur Plummer They were married 68 years when he passed Sept 7, 2019. She is also the last one to pass away from her class. She retired from CBS at 31 years. She was a member of the Rio Grande Baptist church.

She is survived by her son Lester Plummer (Roxie) of Brazil Indiana, daughter Diana Russell of Rosedale Indiana. Grandchildren Jeff Raley (Erica), Bowling Green, Ky, Nick Raley of Rosedale, Brian Plummer (Sarah) Brazil In, Emily Mann (Jon) Brazil In. Clint Raley (Linzy) Terre Haute, IN, Brad Plummer, Arnold, Mo. She has 14 great grandchildren and 7 great-great- grandchildren. She is survived also by her brother-in-law Patrick Kirk((Cheryl), Jerry Kirk, and sister-in-law Francis Douglas (David)

She was preceded in death is her mother and father, husband Arthur Plummer, sister-in-law June Ann Geddie, son-in- law Charles Russell and granddaughter Heather Plummer.

Services for Gertrude will be on Wednesday, December 17, 2025, at 2:00pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Visitation will take place at the funeral home from 12:00pm until service time. Burial will take place at Roselawn Memorial Park.
