Gladys Etta Cox, 99, of Terre Haute passed away on February 22, 2014 at 2:05 p.m. She was born in Evansville, IN on January16, 1915 to Jacob Matthews and Mary Jane (Lively) Matthews. Gladys was a member of Union Baptist Church. She also held membership in the Order of Eastern Stars #43, Eagles #291, and Caldron of Kerman Grotto.
Gladys is survived by her husband of 16 years Edgar Cox; daughter Joanne Hayden; step daughters Janet Roach, her husband Wayne, and Linda Miller; step-son Edward Cox, his wife Barbara; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her first husband Joseph Suttie in 1988 and her sister Elsie Whalen.
Funeral services are scheduled for Wednesday February 26, 2014 at 12:00 p.m. in DeBaun Funeral Homes Springhill Chapel, 85 E Springhill Drive. Rev. Rod Maris will be officiating. Private burial will be in Roselawn Memorial Park. Visitation will be at the funeral home on Wednesday from 10:00 a.m. until service time.
