Harry “Skip” Emil Smith III, passed away on August 21, 2015, at his residence. He was born on February 6, 1956, in Terre Haute, to Harry and Velma Smith. Skip had a passion for writing and playing music. He also loved to be outdoors.
Harry is survived by his children, Michele Arbaugh and husband Chris, Harry “Skip” Smith IV and his companion Marcia Long, Matthew “Scott” Smith and fiancée Maggie Lewis, and Stefanie Smith; he is also survived by his sisters, Kathleen Smith, Vicki Nesbit, Janice Kelley, and a brother, Bill Hall. Harry is also survived by several grandchildren, nieces, and nephews.
Harry was preceded in death by his parents, Harry and Velma Smith, two sisters, one brother, and one grandson.
Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 p.m. on Wednesday, August 26 at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Highland Lawn Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to help with funeral expenses.
