

She graduated from Glenn High School in Terre Haute, Indiana in 1943. She then graduated from cosmetology college and had been a licensed cosmetologist since 1955. Heloise joined the United Commercial Travelers of US and Canada in 1960. She served on many committees throughout the years of her UCT membership. She was the Auxiliary Past Grand Counselor and the Auxiliary Past Supreme Counselor and was elected Supreme Sentinel in Toronto in 1984. She was also installed as Supreme Counselor in Columbus, Ohio in 1988. Heloise was the past president of PTA, past president of Volunteer Firemen Auxiliary (North Terre Haute #1), past president of Home Economics Club, past Noble Grand of Rebekah Lodge and past Matron of Order of Eastern Star.
Heloise was a member of North Terre Haute Christian Church. She had also attended Maplewood Christian Church and First Christian Church of Frostproof, Florida.
She married Arthur Leuckel in 1944, and he preceded her in death in 2011.
Heloise is survived by her three daughters, Vicki Price (Paul), Cathy Clark (Rollie) and Sharon Colwell (George); seven grandchildren; and several great grandchildren and great-great grandchildren.
She was preceded in death by her parents, brother, Roy Owens and sister, Edythe Mae Clarke.
Per Heloise’s wishes, cremation was chosen. Burial will be at a later date at Roselawn Memorial Park. A Celebration of Life will be on June 7, 2025, at North Terre Haute Christian Church, 3133 Park Avenue, Terre Haute, Indiana 47805.
