Janet Thompson

Janet L. Thompson, 60, of Terre Haute passed away on Thursday, October 27, 2016. She was born in Orange County, California to Robert and Rosemary Denny. She grew up in Terre Haute attending Terre Haute North High School.

She was employed by K-Mart for 21 years and was a member of the 8th Avenue Baptist Church. Janet loved the outdoors; she was an avid hunter and fisher and whenever the weather was nice enough, she could be found riding her motorcycle. She also loved watching the Broncos play football. During the holiday season, Janet was commonly known as Mrs. Claus seeing thousands of children each year to spread cheer with her husband.

Janet is preceded in death by her parents and several aunts and uncles.

Janet is survived by her beloved husband of 37 years, Jim Thompson; brothers-in-law, David, George, and Gary Thompson; sister-in-law, Marylyn Miller; very special friends, Ted and Kriss Cooper; cousins, Danny and Mike Thorton; and special friends Rick and Diane Schied.

A funeral service will be held in Janet’s honor on Monday, October 31, 2016 at Thomas Funeral Home at 1:00pm. Visitation will be held prior to the service from 10:00am until 1:00pm.
