Jesse worked for Peabody Coal Company,”Universal Mine”,G.E. in Linton,and Terre Haute Fist Bank.He loved to fish,enjoyed driving his Massey-Ferguson tractor,and spend time with his grandchildren,he also loved to go to yard sales.
Jesse is survived by his wife of 51 years, Caroline; his children, Jillena K.Wheelock (Tom), Shellie Combs (Marty), Jesse Lee Ellis Jr. (Maria); grandchildren, Preston Wheelock (Tana), Kimmie Wheelock, Kelly Combs, Chelsea Ellis, Caleb Ellis, and great-grandson, Elias Wheelock, and several nieces and nephews.
Jesse was preceded in death by his parents, Jesse and Lucille Ellis, a sister,Kathy Gamble, and a grandson Joshua Combs.
Services will be Monday at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home at 11 AM with a visitation Sunday from 4-8 PM at the funeral home. Officiating will be Rev.Bob Roush with burial to follow at the Fairview Cemetery in Linton.
