

John Terry Houston, 54, of rural Clifton, passed away Thursday morning, February 27, 2014, at his rural Clifton residence following a short illness. Mr. Houston was born on April 15, 1959 in Joliet, the son of Truman and Elsie Chenault Houston, his parents are deceased.
Mr. Houston is survived by one brother and sister-in-law, Sam and Wendy Houston of Clifton; one sister, Dolores Houston Kasmer of Orland Park; one brother-in-law, Don Doehring of Momence; three nephews, Ronald (Kelly) Houston of Clifton, Joseph (Dana) Pila of Orland Park and Michael (Nina) Pila of Orland Park; one niece, Kristin (Ryan) Lowery of Clifton; and great-nieces and great-nephews.
In addition to his parents, John was also preceded in death by three brothers, William, Richard and Robert; and two sisters, Nancy Houston and Sue Ann Doehring.
He was an honorary member of the Momence Antique Car Club and he loved antique autos. He also loved Country Music, Law Enforcement, and singing Elvis Presley songs. He was dearly loved by his family and friends and will be missed greatly by them.
Visitation will be from 12:00 p.m. until the 2:00 p.m. funeral service on Sunday, March 2, 2014, at Knapp Funeral Home in Clifton. Rev. Kene Whybrew will officiate. Burial will be on Wednesday, March 5, 2014, at Roselawn Memorial Park in Terre Haute, IN at 12 Noon C.S.T. and 1 PM E.S.T.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to GiGi’s Playhouse, Special Olympics Illinois or the Good Shepherd Manor at Momence.
