John "Dick" Richard Lubbehusen

Dick was a graduate of Schulte High School, and a graduate of Indiana State University where he received his Bachelor of Education and Master of Counseling degrees.

Surviving are his wife of 60 years, Jane; children, John Lubbehusen and wife Jan, Eric Lubbehusen and wife Krista, Marci Nussel and husband Steve; sister, Cheryl Darman and husband Tom; brother-in-law, Chip Drew and wife Jane; eleven grandchildren, Maddison, Drew, Justin, Dylan, Conner, Emma, Ruthie, Maddox, Jessa,Taylor and Brandon; four great-grandchildren, Ellie, Oaklie, Adaleigh and Tatum; three nephews, Christopher, Matthew and Jonathon.

He was preceded in death by his parents, and an infant brother, Tom.

Dick taught school in Merrillville before before moving back to Terre Haute, where he taught at Sarah Scott Middle School. Later he was the Administrative Director of Night School education at the Administrative Building in Terre Haute. He helped many students receive their education and GED.

Hilarious, Funny and Kind, Dick will be remembered for his awesome jokes and generosity.

Funeral services will be held on Monday, June 26, 2023 at 1 PM at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, with Fr. Todd Riebe officiating. Interment will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. The family will receive friends from 11 AM until time of services at the funeral home.
