Karen Ann Jones

Karen Ann Jones, 65, of West Terre Haute, passed away unexpectedly on Friday, February 22, 2019, at Union Hospital. She was born on November 20, 1953, in Cincinnati, OH to Dennis and Mary Anne (Buechler) Eckerle. She married Michael R. Jones in 1973. Karen is survived by her loving and devoted husband of nearly 47 years, Michael R. Jones of West Terre Haute; three children, Barbara Sigman and husband John, Mike Jones, Jr., and Christina Thrasher and husband Derrick; five grandchildren, Savannah Sigman, Carson Sigman, Darren Thrasher, Cassandra Jones, and Deanna Jones; and last, but not least, her two dogs, Heidi and Jungji. She was preceded in death by her parents. Karen graduated in 1971 from Jasper High School in Jasper, IN. A gifted musician, Karen was a music major at Indiana State University. She played the trumpet and the piano. Karen’s love of music led her to a career of teaching others how to read music and play the piano, including her own children. Karen enjoyed being outdoors, listening to the music of nature. She and Mike were members of the Izaak Walton League, Terre Haute Chapter. She was also a member of St. Joseph University Parish. Karen will forever be remembered as a loving wife, mother, and grandmother. She will be truly missed. Visitation will be held from noon until 2 p.m. on Thursday, February 28, 2019 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A Memorial Mass will be held at 2 p.m. on Thursday, at Roselawn Funeral Home.
