Nécrologie de Kevin Lee Pearson
Kevin Lee Pearson, 59, of Paris, passed away on Thursday, September 17, 2020 at Union Hospital. He was born on October 28, 1960, in Terre Haute to Donald Lee and Chleada Frances (Hoopingarner) Pearson. Kevin is survived by his children, Sarah Pearson, Sabrina Pearson, Daniel Pearson, and Thomas Turber; grandchildren, Aiden Varda, Natalie Burger, Madalynn Pearson, Mackenzie Pearson, and Sadie Cassity; siblings, Lynne Stout and Brian Pearson; the mother of his children, Christine; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents and siblings, Wayne, Donna, and Donald Pearson. Kevin graduated from Marshall High School in Marshall, IL. When he was young, he lived in the Bullskin area. Kevin proudly served in the United States Army from 1978 to 1984, primarily stationed in Germany. He worked for many years at Columbia House Records and most recently at the Edgar County Meat Locker. Upon retirement, Kevin became the neighborhood cat whisperer. He had a big heart for animals that was visible through his membership of the ASPCA animal rescue and his devotion to feeding and caring for the stray and feral cats that lived near his home. Kevin also was a continuous donor to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital. Kevin enjoyed watching football and was an avid Chicago Bears fan. An obvious people person, Kevin didn’t know a stranger. He had a great sense of humor and he always kept everyone in the room in stitches with his quick wit and jokes. He loved to make people laugh. Most of all, Kevin was a wonderful father and grandfather. He will be truly missed. Per his wishes, cremation was chosen. A graveside service will be held at 10 a.m. on Saturday, September 26 at Highland Lawn Cemetery with military honors. Memorial contributions may be made to the ASPCA or St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital in Kevin’s memory. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.mattoxwood.com
