

Kimberly Jane Hamilton Poppell, of Terre Haute, passed away at 6:25 p.m. April, 27, 2012, at her residence peacefully with her family at her side. After a long battle with cancer, our angel left this world to spend eternal life in heaven. She was 47 years old. Kim was born to Phyllis Stultz Hamilton Brown and Bobby Joe Hamilton, on Sept. 25, 1964, in Terre Haute.
She is survived by her mother, Phyllis Brown; her father-in-law, Ralph Poppell; her husband, Robert Shane Poppell; three children whom she loved so much, Anna Bella, Hamilton Lee, and Shayna Poppell; one grandson, Tristan Poppell; two sisters, Kelly Hamilton and Cathy and Garry Handlin; four stepsisters, Lee Ann Dephue, Bonnie and Bruce Glasgow, Kerry and Richard Elgar, and Laura Brown; two sisters-in-law, Terri Ellis and Connie and Forest Quinn; nieces and nephews, Amber Ellis, Trey Ellis Holly and Anthony Reedy, Garry C. and Mary Handlin, Angie and Tony Guevara, Bobbi and Bob Prose, Casey and Sam Ghiz, and Carson Quinn; several great-nieces and nephews that she cherished very dearly; one aunt, Lucille VanHook; several cousins; and many beloved others.
She was preceded in death by her father, Bobby Joe Hamilton; stepfather, Malcolm Brown; grandparents, Carl and Beatrice Stultz and Ivan Hamilton; mother-in-law, Betty Poppell; and niece, Corey Quinn.
Kim was a very loving and devoted mother. Her family was the most important and cherished part of her life. She courageously fought this battle with faith, strength, courage and love. Heaven is blessed to have this Loving Angel.
Services will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home, 4660 N. Lafayette Ave., with visitation today from 4 to 8 p.m. at the funeral home and also Tuesday from 9 a.m. until service time on Tuesday. Officiating will be the Rev. Brett Wilson. There will be a memorial service at a later date in Darien, Ga.
