Marcia was born on June 15, 1936 in Terre Haute to the late William T. Clarke and Minnie (Giacoletto) who both preceded her in death. She was the oldest of four children Nancy Reed (Mike) of St. Bernice, Margaret Cooke of Whitestown, and Michael Clarke of Clinton.
Marcia is survived by her two children and their spouses, Mark Lintzenich (Stefani) and grandchildren Allyson, Peyton, and Paige Lintzenich of Terre Haute, and Cheryl Silver (Paul) and grandchildren Nathan and Nicholas Silver of Zionsville. With her second marriage, she had the privilege of loving five stepchildren Ann Nordmeyer (Mike Longcor) of West Lafayette, Mark Nordmeyer, Christopher Nordmeyer, Julie Nordmeyer, and Patricia Nordmeyer, all of Indianapolis.
Marcia was preceded in death by her first husband of 26 years, Alphonsus H. Lintzenich Jr. in 1989. Her devout faith placed her in the arms of another loving man. She is survived by her second husband of 34 years, Kenneth C. Nordmeyer of Indianapolis.
Marcia graduated from Clinton High School in 1954. After graduation, she worked for Public Service in the Accounting Department where her meticulous and organized math skills were utilized to the fullest. Upon taking a break to raise children, she began working at J.C. Penney as a retail associate for many years. She enjoyed the customer interactions and loved working in the Bed and Bath and Homes sections of the store. After her first husband’s death, Marcia retired from J.C. Penney and began working as a secretary at DeBaun Funeral Home in Terre Haute until she decided to fully retire.
Marcia was a devout Catholic and longtime member of St. Patrick’s Church in Terre Haute. She and husband Ken would also attend St. Margaret Mary’s Church. Marcia was a very social person and felt the need to spend a life of service helping others. She was an active member of several community organizations, including the Riley Lions Club, the Knights of Columbus Women’s Auxiliary, the Sycamore Club, and the Rose-Hulman Parent Association. Throughout her life, Marcia made a profound impact on those around her, offering kindness, support, and a generous spirit.
Marcia loved gardening, planting flowers, and was an avid sports fan (especially football). She enjoyed traveling the United States and around the world with husband Ken. The highlight of her life was spending time with her kids and grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, the family challenges everyone to take a moment to spend time with a friend or family member. Don’t put off taking the precious few minutes with someone because we are not in charge of when the last goodbye will be. Text, call, or post a picture of taking this moment and how much it means to you. Send to one of Marcia’s children, stepchildren, or family members. In doing so, we honor Marcia’s legacy of devotion, servitude, compassion, and the importance of cherished relationships.
Marcia was a ray of sunshine when entering a room. Her laughter and social graces made people gravitate to her. Her presence will be deeply missed, but her love for her family, her faith, and her community will live on in the hearts of those who knew her.
Visitation will be held Monday, January 6, 2025 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 11AM to 1PM with services to follow.
