Margaret Jane Crockett

Margaret Jane Crockett, 89, of Terre Haute, passed away on Sunday, June 29, 2014 at Bethesda Gardens. She was born on October 24, 1924, in Terre Haute, to Walter and Elizabeth (McLaughlin) Dowell. She married Clinton Crockett, Sr. in 1941. Margaret was a member of Sacred Heart Church and the Fraternal Order of Police.

Margaret worked for several years as a clerk at Schultz Co. Department Store. She was an excellent homemaker. She enjoyed cooking for her family. Her greatest attribute was her compassion that she would show to everyone. She cherished her family and will be truly missed.

Margaret is survived by her son, Clint Crockett, Jr. and his wife Lynne of Terre Haute; daughter, Sue Ella Crockett of Madison; a special niece Sally Lee and her husband Peter of Indianapolis; a special nephew, Tony Fry and his wife Bonnie of Charlotteville; and two grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her parents, her husband, a brother, Joseph Dowell, and sisters, Pauline Kramer and Josephine Fry.

Visitation will be held from 11 to 1, on Wednesday, July 2 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m., on Wednesday, at the funeral home, with Deacon Steve Gretencord officiating.
