Meredith Sue Carpenter

Meredith Sue Carpenter, 72, of Terre Haute, passed away on Wednesday, January 17, 2018 at Regional Hospital, surrounded by her family. She was born on December 25, 1945, in Hardin County, Illinois to Benjamin and Helen (Joyce) Edwards. She married Matthew Carpenter on January 14, 2006.

Sue is survived by her husband, Matt Carpenter of Terre Haute; son, Daniel Fuller of Lubbock, TX; daughter, Barbara Smith-Fish and husband James of Terre Haute; a sister, Lola Roberts; and many grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her parents; a son, Benjamin “B.J.” Fuller; and a brother, James Allen Edwards.

Sue joined the United States Army in 1964. She worked for many years as a group leader at Columbia House and retired in 2003. She then went to work at the Third Street Laundromat and at Jiffy Mart. Sue loved to read. She enjoyed live theater and looked forward to going to plays at the Community Theatre and Beef and Boards. She was an excellent cook. Sue will be truly missed.

Visitation will be held from 11 to 1 on Monday, January 22 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Monday, at the funeral home. Sue will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net.
