Mildred M. Collins

Mildred M. Collins, 103 of Cory, passed away on 27th of December 2013, in Indianapolis. She was born on December 2, 1910, in Clay County to Edgar and Mary Estella Brill Nicoson. She married Virgil Collins on December 27, 1936, and he preceded her in death on March 29, 1999. Mildred was also preceded in death by her parents, three brothers: Cyril B., George W. and Paul L. Nicoson, and two sisters: Mary L. Laswell and Norma J. Yaraschefski.

Mildred was a homemaker, devoted wife and loving mother living much of her life in LaPorte, Indiana. She enjoyed her job in sales and retired to work at Collins Golf Course in Cory. She was a member and secretary of Rolling Prairie United Methodist Church in LaPorte County and Oak Hill Community Church near Cory.

Survivors include her daughter, Kay E. Collins Dunbar and her husband Robert of Indianapolis; two grandchildren: Jennifer K. Nobbe and husband James of Batesville and John R. Dunbar and wife Erica of Darien, Illinois; and one much loved great grandson, Leo S. Nobbe.

Funeral services are 12 p.m. at Oak Hill Community Church, 10055 State Road 46, Terre Haute, Indiana 47802 on Monday, December 30, 2013 with Rev. Tim Fagg officiating. Visitation is scheduled prior to the services starting at 11:00 a.m. at the church. Burial will follow at Oak Hill cemetery. Mattox funeral home is handling the arrangements.
