Nola "Mackie" Jones, 99, passed away on Wednesday, November 20, 2019 at Cobblestone Crossing. She was born on July 20, 1920 in Terre Haute to Charles Augustus and Emily (Archer) Hulley.
Nola came from a hard-working farm family. She baled hay, worked in the fields, milked cows, and sold milk for an income. She attended Silver Springs School and had to quit in the 8th grade. She met Jimmy Jones, the love of her life, whom she married in 1944. They were married for 59 years. They loved to dance. She worked beside men as a welder for 40 years at Columbia Enameling.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Jimmy Jones; brothers, Kenny Hulley, Donny Elmo Hulley, Russ Hulley, Jim Hulley, Virgil Hulley; sisters, Willma, Helen, Betty; a nephew, Jeff.
She is survived by her brothers Chester (Barb) Hulley, Bob (Lois) Hulley; her nieces, Beverly, Roxanne, Laura, Tina, Tracie, Tisha, Cindy, Angie, Ellie; her nephews, Larry, Kenny Guy, Mike, Norman, Jimmy, Donny; and special babies, Renley (Reena), Aubrie (Audrey), and Miles.
Visitation will be Monday, November 25, 2019 from 11:00 a.m. - 1:00 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home. The funeral service will begin at 1:00 p.m. with Pastor Bill Herb officiating. Burial will follow at Roselawn Memorial Park. In lieu of flowers, donations of costume jewelry for bingo prizes and/or craft supplies for Cobblestone Crossing Health Campus can be made at the funeral home.
