

Norman L. King, went home to be with his Lord on May 23, 2013 at Union Hospital. He was born on June 20, 1934, to Lawrence and Cecil Smith King. He was retired from Indiana American Water Company after 42 years of service. He was an active member of 8th Avenue Baptist Church. He enjoyed spending time with his friends and family and especially Tuesday lunches with his brother. He loved farming with his son and grandsons. Norman proudly served in the Naval Reserves.
Norman is survived by his wife, Sharon Shidler King, whom he would have celebrated 50 years of marriage with in June; four sons, Leslie King and his wife LuAnn of Terre Haute, Roger King and his wife Vickie of Annapolis, IL, Jay King and his wife Su of Lawrenceburg, IN. Joe King and his wife Joni of Rosedale, a daughter, Michele Hough and her husband Mike of Wabash, IN; 10 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, and several step-grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister Eileen Orndorff of Terre Haute and two brothers, David King of Terre Haute and Danny King of Brazil; and several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents, a brother Ray King, and his first wife, Leah Grindle King.
Norman’s family would like to send special thanks to all of the caring nurses and doctors at Union Hospital, Hospice, and especially to Joyce Boeglin, FNP and Nurse Theresa, who was his caretaker for the last 17 years.
Visitation will be held from 4 to 8 p.m. on Monday, May 27 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, at the funeral home with Pastor Dick Smith officiating.
