

CLINTON — Paul L. Barth, 97, of Clinton, passed away on Dec. 11, 2015, at Union Hospital Clinton. He was born March 22, 1918, in Clark County, Ill. He was a son of the late Leonard D. Barth and Gertie Schlosser Barth.
He was a graduate of Marshall (Ill.) High School. He was service manager at Mike’s Motor Company in Clinton for 44 years. In 1972 he was awarded the honor of top service manager in Chrysler’s St. Louis District. In 1988 he was honored again as the top service manager for Chrysler’s 6,600 dealerships in the 50 states with an unheard of customer service ratio. He owned a farm in Parke County for 55 years and was a 50-year-member of the Lyford Water Board. He also was a member of the Jerusalem 99 Free & Accepted Masons and State Line Christian Church.
Survivors include his wife of 72 years, Helen “Pat” Barth; daughter and son-in-law, Shirley and Ron Hinton of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Mark Hinton of Edinburgh and Beth Hinton and fiancée Steve Miller of Newport Richey, Fla.; great-granddaughter, Abriann Hinton of Edinburgh; brother, Dale Barth and wife Lillian of Centralia, Ill.; and three nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents; and two sisters, Irene Ridgway and Mildred Ridgway.
Visitation will be 4 to 8 p.m. Monday, Dec. 14, 2015, at Frist Funeral Home. Services will be 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at the funeral home with the Rev. John Puckett and Bob Howard officiating.
