Paul Ed E Tackett Sr.

Paul Edward “Ed” Tackett, Sr., 78, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, November 10, 2015, at the Indianapolis VA Medical Center. He was born on June 24, 1937, in Chicago, IL, to Lee and Frances Tackett, Sr. He married Sandra K. Sebree on June 10, 1960.

Paul is survived by his wife of 55 years, Sandra K. Tackett of Terre Haute; children, Jeanetta Ridener and husband Richard Sr., Paul Jr. “Butch” Tackett, Kathy Graves and husband Bill, and Brandy Tackett; grandchildren, April Snowden and husband Josh, Paul Tackett III, Clint Fields, Gary Flowers, Billy Graves and wife Heather, Richard Ridener II and fiancé Theresa Selcke, Robin Marquis and husband Matthew, Christopher Price, Skylynn Mount, and CJ Mount; great-grandchildren, Joshua, Riley, Jacob, Brylie, Gavin, Easton, Mackenzie (on the way), Emily, Angel, Aryanna, Elijah, and Daniel; a sister, Marilyn Jackson, a brother, Ross Tackett, and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers, John, Bill, and Lee Tackett, Jr., a sister Lea Ann Tackett, and a grandson, Michael Tackett.

Paul proudly served in the United States Army during Vietnam. He also spent time serving in Germany. He worked for Kroger for ten years. He then went to work as a coal miner. He retired from working as a carpenter in the construction industry. Paul was a member of the Moose Lodge and American Legion Post 346. In his spare time, he enjoyed watching westerns and football.

Visitation will be held from 10 to 11 a.m. on Monday, November 16 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Chuck Cooley officiating and military honors provided by American Legion Post 346.
