

He was born March 17, 1937 in Galesburg, Illinois, to John Milton and Geraldine (Betts) Burchell.
Dick was a 1955 graduate of Galesburg High School.
He met and married Ann, the love of his life of 63 years, while working at Woolworth's. They wed on June 15, 1958.
He is survived by his loving wife, Ann; their four children: Rachel Hunter of Jacksonville, FL, Renee (Jeff) Bose of Clinton, Rick (Beth) Burchell of Terre Haute, and Ruth (Chad) French of Terre Haute; their 11 grandchildren: Christopher Kelly (Carmen), Daniel and Hannah Bose, Caleb (Karina) and Abby Hunter, Maddie, Emma, and Max Burchell, Chloe, Collin, and Baylor French; and four great grandchildren: Viona Kelly, Dasha, Malachi, and Benjamin Hunter. He is also survived by his sister, Donna Barstow of Tarpon Springs, FL and several nieces and nephews.
Dick established Burchell & Son Construction in 1969 and Annie's Concessions selling Sati-Babi.
He was a member of the Christ Community Church.
Dick carved out a piece of paradise at Burchell's Lake. He was the patriarch of Heaven's Harmony, and and helped to establish Ace Sign.
He enjoyed golfing, knitting, gardening, hunting, fishing, model trains, puzzles, Rick's Smokehouse, and The Cottage Coffee & Ice Cream. Most of all, he enjoyed spending time with his family and friends.
He is preceded in death by his parents and his sister, Judith Fox.
A visitation for Dick will be held Tuesday, September 28, 2021 from 4 - 8pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. An additional visitation will occur Wednesday, September 29, 2021 from 11am - 1pm at Roselawn Funeral Home. Service will follow at 1pm with Pastor Steve Bland officiating.
Dick will be laid to rest in the Chapel of Memories at Roselawn Memorial Park.
