Richard was born to Darell and Edith Irene Scamihorn in November of 1945 in Fort Blanding, Florida. He graduated from Honey Creek High School in 1963, worked for various companies as maintenance, and was a member of the Terre Haute Bowling League.
In his free time Dick enjoyed drag racing, motorcycles, traveling, and collecting pocket knives and watches.
Dick is survived by his wife Connie Scamihorn; children Crystal Pratt (Glenn), Greg Scamihorn (Corey), Cory Hightower (Beth), and Troy Hightower; grandchildren Cory, Katie, Kim, Kevin, Taylor, and Layla; great grandchildren Hunter, Maci, and Raelynn; Sister Darlene Lowe (Gene); nephew Bryon; niece Deana (Steve); great-nephew Westly; and great-niece Kaylyan.
He is preceded in death by his parents Darell Scamihorn and Edith Irene Scamihorn (Huffman).
A visitation will be held Saturday, January 24, 2026 at Roselawn Funeral Home from 2pm – 4pm with a celebration of life to follow.
