

Robert “Bob” Andrew Flak, 65, of Terre Haute, passed away on Tuesday, March 4, 2014, at Union Hospital. He was born on December 18, 1948, in Terre Haute, to Stephen and Emma (Dudzik) Flak, Sr. He married Jan Coffman and together they raised three children.
Bob attended Sacred Heart Grade School and graduated from Garfield High School in 1966. He was a natural athlete and excelled in cross country. He earned his Associate’s Degree in Electronic Repair from Ivy Tech. Bob owned Electronics, Ltd., a t.v. and electronics repair shop, for many years. Bob enjoyed fishing and was a former member and president of the Wabash Valley Bassmen Club.
Bob had a wonderful sense of humor and a friendly smile. He was a friend to anyone and never knew a stranger. He could often be found doting on his beloved dog, Baby. Bob will forever be remembered as a devoted husband, father, and grandfather.
Bob is survived by his loving wife of 40 years, Jan Flak, of Terre Haute; their children: Lee Ann Riesenbeck and her husband David, Robert W. Flak and his wife Nikki, and David J. Flak and his wife Sara, all of Terre Haute; grandchildren, Dylan Riesenbeck, Dalton Flak, Kendra Bible, Dawson Flak, and Sophia Flak; siblings: Mary Jane Boyll and husband Charles, Carolyn Wade and husband George, and Steve Flak, Jr. and partner Jo-Ann Bryan, all of Terre Haute; and his close friends Mike and Jayson Gatti of Arlington, TX, and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents.
Visitation will be held from 11 until 1 on Friday, March 7, 2014 at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be held at 1 p.m. on Friday, at the funeral home. Burial will follow in Calvary Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Catholic Charities or the Wounded Warrior Project.
