

Dale is survived by his daughter, Angela K. Mitchell and husband Russell of Terre Haute; three grandchildren, Bryson Mitchell, Alicia Mitchell, and April Thompson; nine great-grandchildren, Caitie, Cassie, Clarie, Celine, Caroline, Cecelia, and Blaise Mitchell and Mitchell and Calvin Thompson; two nieces, Janet Maher and Judy Thompson; and a nephew, Gary Leatherman.
He was preceded in death by his parents; wife of 67 years, Wilma (Jennings) Stark on July 9, 2017; and a daughter, Linda Dale Johnson.
Dale graduated from Greene Township High School where he played basketball. He proudly served in the United States Army during WWII. During his time in the military, he served under General McArthur while he led the way and was also a ping pong champion. In his later years, he was chosen to participate in the Indianapolis Honor Flight. He worked at Anaconda from the day they opened and retired as an electrician.
Dale was a member of East Side Church of Christ and North Terre Haute Christian Church which he helped build. He enjoyed being outdoors and gardening. Dale loved to help people with their electrical projects. Dale also liked to be entertained by Red Skelton and Bob Hope.
Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. until noon on Saturday, October 21 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at noon on Saturday, at the funeral home with Rev. John Montgomery officiating.
