Mr. Ronald Devol Kneeland

Ronald Devol Kneeland, 72, of Terre Haute and formerly of Rockville passed away Friday June 10, 2011 at 2:34 PM at his residence after a month long illness and Hospice care at home. Ron was born December 4, 1938 in Terre Haute to Harry H. and Thelma S. “Moss” Kneeland. Ron was raised in Jasonville where he graduated from Jasonville High School and spent his summer as a teenager working at Shakamak State Park in the Commissary at the Beach. He loved fishing and working in the yard and took great pride in both. He was an avid sports fan. He had worked for the US Postal Service for 40 years and as the Postmaster for Rockville from 1976 to his retirement in 1995. He had been working part time at Kroger at 25th and Wabash prior to his death. He was a member of Parke Masonic Lodge #8 and former member of Capitol City Lodge as well as a member of National Association of Retired Federal Employees. Ron was preceded in death by his parents, and a sister, Geraldine Myers, his first wife, Janice (Duvall) Kneeland. He is survived by his wife, Connie (Walters) Kneeland, two sons, Ronald (Nancy), Randel (Lisa), a daughter, Lori Martin (Tim Ziga), a step-son, Brad Trull (Rosemarie), numerous grandchildren, nieces and nephews. He is also survived by his birth family, Ernie, George, Richard, Bill Wilkinson and one sister Peggy Mills. Ron requested cremation. A Memorial Service will be held at Roselawn on July 3, 2011 at 4PM with visitation from 2-4PM before the service. Masonic Service will be at 3:45 prior to regular service.
