Sarah Maxine Scott

Maxine Scott, 95, of Terre Haute, passed away April 4, 2019. She was born January 25, 1924, to Joe and Jessie Miller. Maxine was married 61 years to Clifford, when he passed away on June 8, 2002. Maxine had lived at Bethesda Gardens Assisted Living since 2010. She and her husband were long time members of North Terre Haute Christian Church, until their health began to fail. Some of her fondest memories were of teaching Sunday School and Bible School. She and her husband worked to help start up new Christian churches in small communities where they lived, while Clifford worked as an electrical supervisor on major construction jobs. Maxine is survived by three children, Juanita Morris of Bainbridge, Indiana; Larry and Naomi Scott of Terre Haute, Indiana; and Carol Judd of Paducah, Kentucky. Carol’s husband, Ivan, passed away earlier. Maxine had nine grandchildren, Denise and Kenny Davies; Cathy and Brad Nutter; Judy and Jeff Edwards; Randy and Hilary Scott; Stacey and Joe Brentlinger; Andreina and Malcolm Waller; Brian Scott; and Joey and Leigh Judd. Her eldest grandchild, Scott Morris passed away in 2015, his wife Paula, survives. Maxine had twenty-one great-grandchildren and eighteen great-great-grandchildren. She is survived by sisters, Josie Doan and Linda Christensen; as well as her brother Harley and, wife Sonia, Miller. Maxine was preceded in death by her oldest son, Donald Scott and his wife Sheri; two sisters, Thelma Kay Miller and Pat McCormack; as well as four brothers, Bill Miller, George Miller, Jim Miller, and Paul Miller. Visitation will be held from 10 a.m. to 11 a.m. on Monday, April, 8 at Roselawn Funeral Home. A funeral ceremony will take place at 11 a.m. on Monday, at the funeral home with Pastor Mark Grayless officiating. Maxine will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories.
