

Sharon Sue (Peach) (McKillop) Funkhouser, 68, of Terre Haute, passed away on Monday, January 21, 2013 at her home. She was born on September 20, 1944, in Decker, IN, to Lester Peach and Maxine (Schwartz) Snider. She married Don McKillop and together they had two sons. She later met the love of her life, Ryan Funkhouser, and they married in 2003. Sharon was a 1962 graduate of Decker Chapel. She worked at Hillman’s Jewelry Store, sold ING insurance, and worked as a cook for Terre Haute Nursing Home. Sharon and Ryan attended Mount Pleasant United Methodist Church. She loved to read and write. She liked to use the computer and play card games. Sharon was an excellent cook and will always be remembered for her banana cream pies.
Sharon is survived by her mother, Maxine Snider of Vincennes; her husband and soulmate, Ryan Funkhouser of Terre Haute; son, James D. McKillop and his wife Dawn of Terre Haute; step-children, Amber Mae Starr and husband Tony of Greencastle and Lt. Col. Ryan O. Funkhouser II and wife Michelle of Prattville, AL; sisters, Linda Shepard and her husband Jim of Vincennes, and Kathy Henderson and her husband Brent of Indianapolis; step-brothers, Don Snider and wife Marge and Dick Snider and wife Margaret all of Vincennes, and Tom Snider and wife Phylis of Sedona, AZ; twelve grandchildren, 3 great-grandchildren, several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dachshund, Shari.
She was preceded in death by her father, Lester Peach; a step-father, Harry Snider; a son, Mark McKillop; and grandparents, Oscar and Rosa Schwartz.
Visitation will be held on Friday, January 25 from 4 to 8 p.m. at Roselawn Funeral Home and on Saturday, January 26 from noon until the time of services. A funeral ceremony will take place at 2 p.m. on Saturday, at the funeral home, with Pastor Aaron Wheaton officiating. Entombment will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park’s Chapel of Memories.
