Victor Louis Porter

Victor Louis Porter, 79, passed away Saturday, Dec. 2, 2017 at his residence. He was born December 20, 1937, in Decatur, IL to James Nelson Porter and Nina Chasco Porter. He was the retired owner of Victor Porter Cleaning Service.

Victor is survived by his son, James E. Porter and his wife Joyce, Plattsmouth, NE; daughter, Terri Hine and her husband Ed , Chesterton, IN; daughter, Karen McFadin, Decatur, IL; son, Scott Trausch and his wife Darla, Terre Haute; grandchildren, Tiffany Robison, Justin Robison, Brian Porter, Daniel Porter, Chad McFadin, Elizabeth Trausch, Olivia Trausch, Zoe Trausch, Clenton Trausch, and Collin Trausch; 5 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Beyer, Jayden Witter, Mylus Robison, Linkin Robison and A.J. McFadin; his brother, Father Robert Porter, Litchfield, IL; sister, Mary Burgener, Moweaqua, IL. He was preceded in death by his wife Beverly, granddaughter Abigail Trausch, brothers, Jim Porter, Joe Porter and Dan Porter and sister, Gloria Kensinger.

After retirement he enjoyed delivering the T. H. Tribune newspaper over 3 routes, enjoyed playing golf, softball and watching Cubs baseball. He also loved watching his family, especially his grandchildren playing sports and attending other family events. He never met a stranger.

Private graveside services and interment will be in Roselawn Memorial Park with Father Bob Porter officiating. A memorial service will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Friday, December 8 at Christus Victor Lutheran Church, 8461 East Budd Road, Terre Haute, with Pastor Barry Bostrom officiating. Family will be receiving friends from 1:30 until the time of service on Friday, at the church. In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Christus Victor Lutheran Church.
