

Virginia Lee Galloway, 87, of Terre Haute, passed away Wednesday, June 24, 2015, at Cobblestone Crossings Health Campus. She was born May 11, 1928, in Terre Haute, to Herbert L. Church and Louise (Newkom) Church.
Virginia graduated from Wiley High School in 1946. She worked as a secretary for Eastern Express and retired from Alcan Aluminum. Virginia and her husband, Paul Galloway, were very active members of the American Legion Post 346. Virginia served as a past president, secretary, and historian of American Legion Post 346 Auxiliary. She was also the past historian of the American Legion 6th District. She spent much of her time volunteering for many different charities. She enjoyed going shopping with her grandchildren.
Virginia is survived by her children, Steve and Libby Kerr, Jim and Cheryl Galloway, and her daughter, Terrie; grandchildren, Marty Kerr, Rusty Kerr, Ashley Woods and Greg, and P.J. Galloway and Brittney; great-grandchildren, Shelby Kerr, Emily Kerr, Maddie Kerr, Marty Kerr Jr., Alee Kerr, Mahayla Boram, and Aubrie Galloway; siblings, Bill Church, Mary Lou Furnas, Betty Lincoln, Jessie Keegan, Sue Nowland, and Jerry Church; and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Paul J. Galloway; and siblings, Jack Church, Helen Bailey and Joan Jenkins.
Visitation from 4 to 8 p.m. Friday, June 26, at Mattox-Wood Funeral Home. Services are noon Saturday, June 27, at the funeral home. Virginia will be laid to rest in Roselawn Memorial Park. Fond memories and expressions of sympathy may be shared with the family at:
