Virginia Mildred Baker Purcell

Virginia M. Purcell, age 94, of Terre Haute and Prairieton, age 94, passed away July 2, 2011 in the Union Hospital. Born March 21, 1917 in Burnette, she was the daughter of John Baker and Helen (Creal) Baker. She married William I. Purcell

and he preceded him.

Virginia had worked as a Baker for the Miller-Parrot Baking Company. She was a member of the Breden United Methodist Church and the Prairieton Auxiliary Fire Dept. Her hobby was cooking.

Survivors include two sons, Bill L. Purcell and wife Brenda, and Larry E. Purcell and wife Heidi; 5 grandchildren, Samantha Batchelor, Larry Purcell Jr., Heather Mueller, Sanseeray Moench, and Matthew Purcell; 9 great grandchildren; 1 great great grandson; a sister Kathleen Kallis; and several nieces and nephews. Her parents, husband and a brother Barney Baker preceded her.

Visitation will be held Thursday from 10 to 1:00 PM at the Thomas Funeral Home. Services are at 1:00 PM with Pastor Ray Leach officiating. Burial will follow in the Roselawn Memorial Park.
