

Virginia Salmon, 86, of Rosedale, went to be with the Lord on the morning of December 16, 2011 in her home, with her family at her side. She was born on November 14, 1925 in Vigo County to Lloyd G. Anderson and Edna (Powell) Anderson Ferguson. She married Glen C. Salmon, Sr. on April 29, 1944. They raised seven children together. She attended Garfield High School. Virginia drove a school bus for the Vigo County School Corporation for many years and was a homemaker and caretaker to many. She was a member of various mother’s clubs, Otter Creek Fire Department Women’s Auxiliary, Rosedale American Legion Women’s Auxiliary, Girl Scouts, 4-H, Stop 16 Saddle Club, Otter Creek Mens Club, and an avid Kroger shopper. She will be deeply missed by her family.
Virginia is survived by their children, Glen C. Salmon, Jr., Mary Ellen King, Allen Salmon, Robert Salmon (Becky), John Salmon (Kim), Phyllis Salmon (Kenny Jean), and Susan Jackson (Jim); grandchildren, Larry King, Beth Lynch (Emmett), Missy King (Scott), Jessica Pruitt (Ray), Julia Spencer (Rich), Amanda Holstein, Katrena Brown(Allen), Summer Mount (Bryan), Robbie Salmon (Kacee), Jared Salmon (Amy), Matt Salmon (Kylie), Molly Tegethoff (Tad), Shannon and Shawna Price, Adam Helms (Colee), Sarah Lewis (Ray), and Josh Rogers; 34 great-grandchildren; brother Lloyd Anderson (Helen); sister-in-laws, Betty Lewis and Marge Salmon; brother-in-law, Don Howard, special extended family, Roy, Ethel, and Brooke Lynch, and Erin and Darren Duzan, and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
She was preceded in death by her husband of over 50 years, Glen C. Salmon, Sr.; her parents; daughter-in-law, Maribeth (Loving) Salmon; grandson, Lee Allen William Salmon, and her sister, Phyllis Howard.
Visitation will be from 4 to 8 p.m. Sunday at Thomas Funeral Home. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the funeral home with Reverend Gary Blackburn officiating.
