

Walter was born in Owensboro, KY on May 22, 1940, the son of the late Floyd and Eunice (Crow) Cotton. On October 24, 1960, he was united in marriage to his loving wife, the former Linna Ballard. Walter was a member of the Gospel Assembly of Terre Haute and also had worked as a motorcycle mechanic. In addition to his love of motorcycles, he also enjoyed guns. He will forever be remembered by his family as a remarkable husband, father, grandfather and great grandfather.
He is survived by his loving and devoted wife, Linna; children, Belinda and husband Mark Weir of Terre Haute, Sarah and husband James Wombles of Terre Haute, Douglas and wife Janet Cotton of Terre Haute and Floyd and wife Angie Cotton of Indianapolis. Walter also leaves behind thirteen grandchildren and thirteen great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Walter was welcomed home to heaven by his son, Bill Cotton, Sr.; grandson, David Thompson, four brothers and one sister.
Visitation will be held on Monday, April 9, 2012 from 4-8 p.m. and again on Tuesday, April 10, 2012 from 9 a.m. until Walter’s Funeral Service at 10 a.m. at the Roselawn Funeral Home in Terre Haute. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park.
