

Wanda Marie Horsley Carpenter, 77, of Terre Haute, passed away on Thursday, August 1, 2013 at Union Hospital. She was born on August 20, 1935, in Terre Haute to Clarence and Maude (Brush) Bailey. Wanda worked at the Vigo County Courthouse Annex as an advocate for veteran’s benefits. Wanda loved to travel to Florida and enjoyed being on the beach. She especially enjoyed gambling and took many trips to Tunica. She doted on her beloved Chihuahua, Petey. She will be truly missed.
Wanda is survived by her husband, Glenn “Buzz” Carpenter of Terre Haute; daughters, Connie Kester and her husband Mike of Terre Haute, and Bonnie Robertson and her husband Rob of North Vernon; step-children, Scott Carpenter and his wife Debbie, Mike Carpenter, and Kevin Carpenter; 4 granddaughters, 5 step-grandchildren, 5 great-grandchildren, and 1 great-great-grandchild; a sister Rose Shores, a brother Harold Bailey and his wife Betty, and several nieces and nephews.
She was preceded in death by her parents, her first husband, Gene Horsley, two sons Rick Horsley and Butch Horsley, and siblings Eugene, Earl, Lucille, Midge, and Violet.
Visitation will be held on from 4 to 8 on Sunday, August 4 at Roselawn Funeral Home. Services will be held at 2 p.m. on Monday at the funeral home with Pastor Kyle Andrews officiating. Burial will follow in Roselawn Memorial Park. Online condolences may be made at www.roselawnfuneralhome.net
