

Surviving him is his wife of 69 years, Frances Blanton Wetzel of Terrell, TX. Brother, Henry Jacob Wetzel of Columbus, Indiana, nephews, Dallas Henry and wife Pam Wetzel of Columbus, Indiana and Randy Wetzel of Alaska. Sister-in-laws, Colleen Blanton Lovell of Mesquite, Elda Blanton Mitchell and husband Bill of Sulphur Springs, Texas
Charles was a graduated from Rushville, Indiana High School in 1939, The Arthur Jordan Conservatory of Music with Butler University, Indianapolis in 1948. Received Master of Music Education from SMU in 1967.
Taught band and Choir for over 45 years at Quitman High School, Malakoff High School and Junior Hi band at Terrell, TX.
Sgt. Wetzel served in the Army during WWII from 1941 to 1945 as a member of the 250th Coast Artillery Regt. In the Pacific Theatre of operations he played the trombone in the Regimental Band.
He was a member of the First Baptist Church of Terrell, Texas
Funeral service will be held at 10:30am, Wednesday, May 7, 2014 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with interment to follow at 2:30pm at D/FW National Cemetery. Visitation will be at 6-8pm, Tuesday, May 6, at the funeral home. Condolences may be shared at www.andersonclaytonterrell.com.
