

James Lee Allen of Lindale, Texas went home to be with his Lord on July 21, 2015. James was born on December 16, 1946 in Austin, Texas to Arthur Henry and Georgia Allen. James went on to meet the love of his life Paula where he first seen her cruising with her friends at White Rock Lake and they went on to spend 47 happy years together. In January of 1964 James joined the United States Marine Corp and served in Vietnam where he was Honorably Discharged in 1967. After serving his country he went to work for AT&T (formerly known as Southwestern Bell) in 1968, starting out as a cable splicer’s helper and working his way up to P.B.X. installer in 1978. James was a proud member of The Communications Workers of America Dallas Local Chapter 6215 where he was elected Chief Steward in 1975, Local Treasurer in 1980 and then Executive Vice President until his retirement in 2012. James has been elected for the past 30 years at various positions to represent the C.W.A. members. James was an active member of Community Christian Fellowship in Lindale where he remained faithful until his health declined. He was a devoted servant of the Lord with his faith being a cornerstone of his character. James was dedicated to his family as well as his colleagues. He was a devoted husband, loving dad and grandfather. James was a remarkable champion for his co-workers. James is preceded in death by his parents, three brothers: Paul Allen, Amos Allen, and Daniel Allen as well as a sister, Loma Allen Eldred. James leaves to cherish his legacy: his wife; Paula Allen, a son; Matthew James Allen and wife Elena of Longview, Texas, a son Jeffery Bryan Allen of Dallas, Texas, two grandchildren: Calen Dax Allen of Tyler, Texas, and Brisceida Hernandez of Longview, Texas and numerous nieces, nephews, extended family and friends. Funeral Service will be held at 2:00 p.m. Saturday July 25, 2015 at Anderson-Clayton Bros. Chapel with and interment to follow at Oakland Memorial Cemetery in Terrell, Texas. Family will receive friends from 6-8 on Friday July 24, 2015 at the funeral home. Family has asked that donations be made to the American Heart Association or a charity of choice.
