Karen Inina Shaw

Karen Shaw, 73, passed away at home on April 14, 2016 in Terrell, TX. She was born on February 27, 1943 to John Melton and Leona Catherine Harrison in Orange, TX. Karen loved dogs and became very fond of her daughter’s bulldog while she was living with them. She would watch the Antique Road Show and always said that you will find a fortune in the things she owned. She was married to the love of her life, Pat David Shaw, for 33 years prior to him passing away. She also worked as a registered nurse at Terrell State Hospital for over 40 years. After retirement, Karen enjoyed traveling with her sisters. Those who have preceded her include her parents, her husband and brother John Melton Harrison, Jr. Those left to cherish her memory are: children David Shaw and Stephanie Kilmer and husband Brian; grandchildren Cory Shaw and wife Sabrina, Sydney Shaw-Pitts, Katelyn Shaw-Pitts, Cole Kilmer, Jessica Kilmer and Brianna Bowers; great grandchildren Courtney Shaw, Timmy Shaw and Chassidy Shaw; siblings Gereldene Dodson, Darlene Patton, Edward Harrison, Billy Harrison and Beverly Jewett; a very special friend, who helped Stephanie take care of her mom, Linda Jacobs; and numerous nieces, nephews and extended family and friends who will miss her dearly. The family will celebrate the life and memory of their mother on April 18, 2016 in the Elmo Cemetery at 2:00pm. There will be a gathering of family and friends held in the Chapel of Anderson-Clayton Bros. Funeral Home on Sunday, April 17, 2016 from 6-8pm.
