Remembering My Daddy .... as a babe he held me close to his heart, I listened to every beat until I fell asleep....I loved being swooped up in his arms into the air so quickly it made me giggle with delight... we did many things by the time I was 5, such as archery, learn to ride bike, hunting for jack rabbits,yep he had me tracking them down,flying a kite with a fishing pole,boating was my favorite. I had learned to snow ski and his nickname for me was "hotdog" of which he called me until I constantly complained in my teen years. (=  Then we moved to the country... that holds so many memories ... remembering the time he was teaching my brother Jim and I how to recognize snake holes, as he moved a rock a huge alligator lizard ran up his pant leg, hahaa we laughed as he tried shaking his leg so it would come down and instead it crawled all the way up! He was wriggling about,removed his pants so fast, Jim and I just fellout laughing... Our family loved to laugh. All 4 of us working hard together dripping sweat and exhausted one would do something ridiculous and we would laugh like a pack of hyenas..another time is when us cousins slept out on the upper deck and a bear came to visit, the adults laughed at us and we convinced my dad to walk to the lake and see, sure enough there where big bear tracks..another fun time is when there was a drought and we went bullfrog giggin',the mud was so thick the guys Jim ,Steve,Uncle Roger and Dad slid around in it while us two girls held the gunny saxs to fill up, that was snake and froglegg dinner night ....I learned so much from my dad and followed him around so I would know how to "fix it" myself. 
Waking up before dawn to put the roof on the house to changing spark plugs on my car..now that one surprised him and he smiled from ear to ear after I told him I knew how to do it from watching him.... He was the strength of my family and losing him was a tremendous loss that cannot be expressed. The pride in his eyes when we made him proud and the smirky crooked smile he had trying to hold back a chuckle. He was a handsome man and such a hard worker, a man who demanded respect just by his presence, yet caring and always had to have a project going on..He taught us to respect ourselves the family and family name.To love our family and it came first, to be loyal, honest and good.. respect life and living creatures....I will always remember the good times and wished we had a lot more time together. Into the arms of God you go... content and pain free forever more...

Cheers to Uncle Rick! He lived life with a passion and vigor, he was a mentor and steward in my young life. Just knowing he was on the planet, whereever he was at the time provided strength for me. He will be sorely missed. My condolences to my cousins, Jim and Deb, and the rest of the family. He will be forever missed!

Dear Jim and family, our thoughts and prayers are with you. We are truly sorry for your loss. Your dad has now entered the Kingdom of God, now he will always be next to his love ones as an Angel. Always be proud of his accomplishments and service to our country.
