Robert Edward McCarthy

Mr. Robert “Bob” E. McCarthy, was born in Tibeout, NY, son of the late John and Helen McCarthy, transitioned from his earthly home on Tuesday October 27, 2015. Bob accepted Jesus Christ as his Lord and Savior at an early age. He was a veteran after serving in the U.S. Army in World War II and due to his exceptional organizational skills and talent at typing 100 word per minute, was immediately given charge over the Security Intelligence Division and was made a Staff Sargent. After the war many of the veterans were given G.I. educational benefits and Robert completed his degree and graduated from NYU within 3 years, attending at night, with an Industrial Engineering degree. He was proceeded in death by his father John McCarthy from Ireland, his mother Helen McCarthy of New York, his mother-in-law Matilda Austin of Bordeaux France, one nephew Richard Weber of California, the love of his life Jacqueline McCarthy of Bordeaux France, and his sister Dorothy Weber of California. His daughter-in-law, Heather McCarthy, was his caregiver until his transition. They experienced a special bond and were friends till the end. Many people contributed to his care, Katrice Tatum, Deloris Wilson, his friends Michelle and Trisha from Mercer Home, and the exceptional staff members who took such good care of him at Notice Care Home where he spent his final days. He leaves to mourn his brother John McCarthy (sister-in-law Annetta McCarthy), daughter Jacqueline Edelschiek (son-in-law Don Edelschiek), son Walton McCarthy (daughter-in-law Heather McCarthy), Grandson Dan Millman, Grandson Scott Millman (Grand Daughter-in-law Lynnett Millman), Grand-Daughter Jamie Edelschiek, Grand-Daughter Alexis McCarthy (Grandson-in-law Barry McCarthy), Grandson Darik McCarthy, Great Grandson Mazen McCarthy, Step Grand-Daughter Haelee Taylor, and his favorite companion “Precious, two nephews Phillip Weber and Arthur Weber, along with a host of relatives and friends.
