Barney Jones Jr.

Barney Jones Jr., a resident of Stamps, Arkansas, passed away on November 17, 2025, at the age of 83. Born on March 16, 1942, Mr. Jones was known for his kind-hearted, compassionate, and humorous nature. He was a cherished and devoted family man, whose loyalty and wisdom touched the lives of all who knew him.

Mr. Jones served his country with honor in the United States Air Force from 1962 to 1967. Following his military service, he embarked on a long and fulfilling career with Arkla Gas, where he worked tirelessly from 1967 until his retirement in 2003. His hard-working and honest approach to life earned him the respect and admiration of colleagues and friends alike.

Barney was a generous and selfless individual, whose thoughtful and patient demeanor was evident in his personal interests and hobbies. An avid outdoorsman, he loved to hunt and fish, finding peace and joy in nature's embrace.

He is survived by his devoted wife, Becky Jones, and his loving children: daughter Arminda "Mindy" Bowman of Dierks, Arkansas, and son and daughter-in-law, James and Rebekah Jones of Dierks, Arkansas. Also left to cherish his memory are his grandchildren, David and Kristin Jones of Stamps, Arkansas, Clayton Jones of Dierks, Arkansas, Aricca Higgins of Dierks, Arkansas, and Marcus "Trey" Higgins of Kirkland, Washington. His precious great-grandchildren, Kadie and Devin Jones of Horatio, Arkansas, and Brody and Nyki Jones of Stamps, Arkansas, will carry forward his legacy of kindness and love.

Barney Jones Jr. will be remembered as a wise and thoughtful man whose selfless acts and generous spirit left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege to know him. His memory will be cherished by his family and friends forever.

The family will receive friends from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm on Friday, November 21st, 2025 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.

Graveside services will be 11:00 am on Saturday November 22nd, 2025 at Mars Hill Cemetery with Brother Andy Hawkins officiating.
