Betty Naomi Friday

Born May 1, 1929 in Fouke, AR. to Gaines and Marie McFerrin and grew up in a lively household along with her sisters; Melba, Doris, JoAnn and brother Frank.

Naomi married Howard Friday and they welcomed daughter Darlene and son Curtis. Naomi wore many hats in her life with a few of her favorites being an unofficial information analyst, she would offer her opinion

on any topic, armchair philosopher and social butterfly anywhere she went.

She found happiness in sharing a cup of coffee with family and friends, fishing, cooking and traveling.

She had a legendary knack for collecting anything from recipe clippings, souvenirs, bird houses and books.

Naomi was preceded in death by her parents, Gaines and Marie McFerrin, her sisters Doris Jackson and JoAnn Moore. Her daughter Darlene Friday and grandson Lynn Friday.

Left to carry the torch are son Curtis (Terita) Friday; Granddaughter Marla Sims (James); grandsons Lee (Erica) Sims, Jason (Kara) Friday and Sean Friday. Great-grandchildren, Andrew Morton, Autumn Campbell, Kendall and Kourtney Sims and Shelby Johnson. Great-great grandchildren Devin, Penelope, Blakely, Oakley, Avalynn, Everly, Sebastian, Sawyer and Mayzie.

In lieu of flowers, Naomi would encourage you to start a collection, take a trip or cook for someone you love.

Graveside funeral service will be 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Concord Cemetery with Rev. Frank McFerrin officiating. Under the direction of East Funeral Home.
