

Carl Ernest Nolte, 94, of Texarkana, Arkansas died Tuesday, May 31, 2016, at his home. Mr. Nolte was born November 27, 1921, in Bradley, Arkansas. He was a retired engineer from the Union Pacific Railroad. He was a veteran of WWII, having served in the United States Navy, and after the war was in the U.S. Marine Reserves. He was the first president of the Mandeville Water Corporation and was a member of the Mandeville Baptist Church. He was a 32nd Degree Scottish Rite Mason and member of the Sahara Temple. His wife of 67 years, Dorothy Fincher Nolte, preceded him in death.
He is survived by one daughter, Pam Townsend, and husband, Ron of Texarkana; two granddaughters, Amber Futrell of Dallas, Texas, and Dr. Monica Townsend and husband Dr. Jason Beck of Lucedale, Mississippi. He has one great-granddaughter, Eilyn Bristol Beck. He is also survived by nieces and nephews.
Graveside services will be conducted at 4:00 p.m. on Friday, June 2, 2016 at Memorial Gardens Cemetery in Texarkana, Arkansas under the direction of East Funeral Home - Downtown.
