Corinne Swanger Hunter

Corinne Swanger Hunter, age 90, lifetime resident of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on January 26, 2015. She was employed for nearly 50 years in the retail automobile business. She began her automotive bookkeeping for Ben Mizell Pontiac-Oldsmobile and later for Pete Mankins Pontiac, Cadillac, Nissan, Mercedes Benz. She retired at age 84.

She was predeceased by her husband, John R. Hunter in 2003. A longtime member of St. James Episcopal Church, she is survived by one son, Jeff Hunter and wife, Marilyn, of Waco and Houston, Texas, 3 grandchildren, Michelle, and husband Brian Purtle of Texarkana, Amy and husband Randy Roberts of Waco, Texas, and Anna, and husband Ron Osborn of Houston, Texas, and five great grandchildren. The family extends their thanks to the staff of Cornerstone Retirement Community and Chris and Mike Knierim for their caring and friendship these past long years.

Private family graveside services to be held at Hillcrest Cemetery under the direction of East Funeral Home on Moores Lane. There will be no prior visitation. In lieu of flowers, the family requests a gift be made to your favorite charity. Dr. John Monroe, her nephew, will conduct the graveside service.
