

Dolores Therese Marie Kempen DuPree, born March 20, 1926 in Little Chute, WI, died with family by her side in Texarkana on November 18, 2025. Dolores married Thomas DuPree June 12, 1948 in Rudolph, WI. They were married for 70 years.
Graduated Valedictorian of her class in 1944, Dolores was a life-long learner. She enjoyed sewing and making ceramics and crafts for her family. She was awarded the 1973 Mother of the Year by the Parkway Village Jaycettes in Memphis, TN. Tutored at Fifteenth St. Elementary, member of Sacred Heart Catholic Church and Women’s Society, Walk for Right to Life and St. Vincent de Paul Society.
Preceded in death by her husband Thomas DuPree. Her parents, Arnold and Henrietta Kempen. Five sisters, Elaine Kempen, Germaine Korslin, Roseline Weiler, Joyce Klonowski, Sharon Gawart and one brother, Elroy Kempen. One granddaughter, Andrea Nicole DuPree and one grandson, James DuPree. Two sons-in-law, Steven Childress and Robert Hitt. Three brothers-in-law, John Klonowski, Roman Korslin and Thomas Weiler.
She is survived by eight daughters: Kathleen Lucke (Joe), Clarence, NY; Marjean DuPree, Sacramento, CA; Cynthia DuPree, Citrus Heights, CA; Debra Kennedy (Mark), Bristow, OK; Janeen Steinheimer (Gary) Corvallis, MT; Michelle Childress, Rockwood, TN; Rhonda Turri (Bill), Arlington, TN; Denise Hitt, Wake Village, TX; three sons: Franklin DuPree (Lisa), Gilmer, TX; Daniel DuPree (Wendell), Dierks, AR; Kevin DuPree (Victoria), Texarkana, TX, twenty-five grandchildren and twenty-seven great grandchildren.
Visitation will be at 6:00 PM, Thursday, December 4, 2025 at East Funeral Home on Moores LN with rosary starting at 7:00 PM.
Funeral Mass at 1:30 PM, Friday, December 5, 2025 at Sacred Heart Catholic Church followed by burial at Holy Cross Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers donations can be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital or St. Vincent de Paul Society.
