Dwight Purtell, 87 of Texarkana, TX passed away on Wednesday May 29, 2019 at a local hospice. He was born on August 30, 1931 in Hope, AR. Mr. Purtell was member of First Baptist Church-Moores Lane, a retired Petroleum Engineer and a veteran of the U S Air Force. He was a member of the Texas EXES.
He is preceded in death by a son Steven Dwight Purtell.
Survivors include his wife Iris Purtell of Texarkana, TX; daughter, Joni Purtell of Montrose, CO; two sisters and brother-in-law, Carolyn and James Ashford of Texarkana, TX and Nora lee Goff of Texarkana, TX; sister-in-law, Doris Purtle of Jefferson, TX; three grandchildren, Austin Dwight Smith, Jessica Purtell and Preston Purtell and a number of nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be 2pm Monday, June 3, 2019 at East Memorial Chapel- Moores Lane with Dr. Jeff Schreve officiating. Burial will be in Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane.
Family will receive friends from 5pm to 7pm Sunday, June 2, 2019 at the funeral home.
