

Gaylia Fay Coley, 94, of Texarkana, Texas, passed away on December 11, 2025, surrounded by the love of her family. Born on December 1, 1931, in Burnett County, Texas, to Ray and Lorene Shelburn, Gaylia lived a life defined by hard work, faith, and family.
Gaylia was a long-time, faithful member of Hampton Church of Christ, a gifted seamstress and a devoted homemaker who took great pride in caring for her family.
Gaylia found joy in the simple pleasures of life. She loved digging in the dirt in her garden, sewing for those she loved, and, most importantly, spending precious moments with her grandchildren and great-grandchildren.
She is preceded in death by her parents Ray and Lorene Shelburn; first husband T.F. Almand; late husband Calvin Coley; her beloved children, Ricky Almand and Brenda Miller; and her siblings, Dalton Shelburn, Wendell Shelburn, and Alice Cooper.
She is survived by her son and daughter-in-law, Jim and Bennie Almand of Powderly, Texas; her daughter and son-in-law, Tandi and Burgess Karr of Hooks, Texas; her six grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 Am Wednesday, December 17, 2025 at East Funeral-Moores Lane Chapel with Jerry Monholland officiating. Interment will follow at Chapelwood Memorial Gardens under the direction of East Funeral Home-Moores Lane. The family will receive friends for visitation from 10:00 am to 11:00 am prior to the service at the funeral home.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Dorcas House at Hampton Church of Christ.
