James "Jabo" Barrett

James (Jabo) Ray Barrett, 75, of Dallas, TX passed away on Monday, June 1, 2020 after a courageous fight against insuperable odds in Texarkana, TX. James Barrett was born on August 13, 1944 in Bruce, MS to the late William Benton and Jessie Lee (Goforth) Barrett. He served our country in the Air Force for 8 years & was a Vietnam Veteran with a Bronze Star. He retired from Vulcan Materials as a Riverboat Captain of 20 plus years. He enjoyed hunting, fishing & socializing in the Beautiful Banks of the Tunica Cutoff.

Preceded in death by son, James (Jim) Barrett Jr, Brothers, Benton Barrett, John Barrett, Thomas Barrett, Jerry Barrett, Sister, Josephine Mills.

Survivors include Daughters, Jessica Boling (Kenny) of Dallas, TX, Kimberly Garcia (Emilio) of Galveston, TX , Deborah Barrett of Boston, MA Sons, Joshua Barrett (Jennifer) of Brighton, MI, & William Barrett of Boston, MA, Ex-Wife, Sandra Barrett of Bartlett, TN, Sisters, Dorothy Ballard of Enid Lake, MS & Shirley Leist of Biloxi, MS . Mr. Barrett also leaves behind seven grandchildren, JJ Woolbright, Christopher Barrett, Christian Barrett, Hunter Barrett, Ashlyn Campbell, William Barrett Jr, & Jordyn Barrett & two great grandchildren, Trey & Alex Woolbright
