Jane Avance Pace

Jane was born August 7, 1939 in Texarkana, Arkansas to Marvin Roy Avance, Sr. and Ivy Mary Pickard Avance. She was the fifth of nine children.

Jane was preceded in death by her parents, her sisters; Mary Florence Avance Calicott, Neita Jo Avance Smith and Reba Sue Avance Wagley, as well as her brothers; Marvin Roy Avance, Jr., James Drew Avance and Patrick Lee Avance. She was also preceded in death by her husband Edwin Russell (Rusty) Pace III.

Jane is survived by her sister Judy Ann Avance Stafford of Texarkana, Arkansas, and her brother William Isaac “Bill” Avance of Texarkana, Texas. She is survived by numerous nieces and nephews including: Michael Calicott, Jimmy Calicott, Timothy Calicott, Roy Lynn Avance, Phillip Avance, Pam Avance Justice, Annette Avance Davis, Bubba Avance, Joey Avance, Connie Avance, Robby Stafford, Todd Stafford, and Toby Lee Avance, and numerous great nieces and nephews and a few great, great nieces and nephews.

Jane was a 1956 Graduate of Texarkana Arkansas Sr. High School. She moved to Dallas, Texas in 1969. She worked in various secretarial jobs until finally ending up working at Bowne of Dallas, a local printing company from which she retired.

She met Edwin Russell “Rusty” Pace in Dallas. They were married on May 2, 1976 on a charter fishing boat in the Gulf of Mexico off Port Aransas, Texas. She and Rusty were married for 45 years until his death in November 2021. Her wish was to be buried with Rusty’s ashes.

Jane and Rusty lived in Dallas and Shady Shores, Texas before moving to McGregor where they built their dream home in 2008.

The family will have a reception and visitation for family and friends on Sunday, March, 20th, 2022 from 12:00 p.m. until 2:00 p.m. at East Funeral Home-Moores Lane reception room.

Funeral services will be at 2:00 p.m. Sunday, March, 20th, 2022 at East Funeral Home-Moores lane Chapel with Bro. Jeff Hart officiating.

Burial will follow at Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
