John “J. D.” Doherty, 57, of Texarkana, TX passed away May 13, 2013 at his home. Mr. Doherty was born August 26, 1955 in Texarkana, AR. He was a U. S. Navy Veteran and a member of St. Edwards Catholic Church.
Survivors include his sisters and brothers-in-law, Mary and Robert Davis of Mena, AR and Margaret and Wayne McMurry of Genoa, AR; brother and sister-in-law, Pete and Beth Doherty of Littleton, CO; nieces, Lacie McMurry, Lisa Houser, Laura Keiss and Kristen Doherty; and nephews, Michael Doherty and Kyle McMurry.
Graveside services will be 1 p.m., Thursday, May 16, 2013 at Calvary Cemetery with Deacon David Fowler officiating. Services are under the direction of East Funeral Home – Downtown.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Texarkana Animal Shelter.
