Joyce Laverne Johnston, age 88, of Texarkana, Arkansas passed away on Friday, August 4, 2023. She was born on September 2, 1934 in Kiomatia, Texas. Her favorite pastimes were fishing, gardening, quilting and making peanut butter cakes. She was a homemaker and loved her family dearly.
She was preceded in death by her husband Raymond Johnston; parents Lonnie and Ethel Hickson; one sister Gloria; three brothers Truman, Rueben and Raymond.
Survived by three sons and daughters-in-law David and Teena Westmoreland, Raymond, Jr. and Teresa Johnston and James and Lisa Johnston; three daughters and sons-in-law Linda and Jerry Solida, Roxie Reneau, Annette and Johnny Todd; numerous grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, nephews and other family.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to your favorite charity.
Funeral service will be 10:00 am Tuesday, August 8, 2023 at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
Visitation will be 6 to 8:00 pm Monday at East Funeral Home-Downtown.
