Gramps was like a father to me and the most wonderful grandfather to the children, Calvin, Courtney, and Christian. He told me when I met even long before he married my mom that he would adopt me and be my daddy after my father had died. Me and the kids always enjoyed and had the best of times having fish fries and gatherings at Gramps house. He will be deeply missed by the kids and I. So very sad that he is gone, but happy that he does not have to suffer anymore pain and with the Lord now.

We had the privilege to know Steve only for a short while. We are so grateful for the time we spent with him when he came to visit us in South Afrika. Steve may you rest in peace and you will always be in our heart.

I only knew Steve for a relatively short time. I wish it could have been longer. Steve was a pillar of strength for me when my father passed. We shared much better times in South Africa and I got to know another side of Him. He was funny, witty, adventurous and he was always light hearted. I was so happy that he and my mom got married. I will always remember Steve as a kind soul with a huge heart and I will miss him dearly. 

Mom I am very sorry for your loss. I know you loved Steve with all your heart. Take comfort in knowing that he loved you just as much. He often told me how much he loved you and appreciated having you in his life.

Could not have a better father in law. I hate to even use the term "in law" with Steve. He was like a father to me. A best friend, a great pal. I remember meeting Steve and Jenny for the first time at one of Calvin's dive meets, and we hit it off as friends right from the get go. He always made me laugh, and was always there to tell me what I needed to hear. I am going to miss hanging out with the family and having dinners, and fish frys at there old place on off on Orr drive. Jenny I love you so much, you are like a mother to me. Please know if there is anything I can do, please don't hesitate to ask.

Mickey and Kathy I'm so very sorry to hear that Steve is no longer with us. There are so many wonderful memories I will keep in my heart forever. The best are the ones of the many things he did for Reaghan. She was absolutely crazy about her Papaw. She has a picture by her bed of her and her Papaw in his recliner acting silly. He would do anything for that child. She was so very sad when we told her. If there is anything I can do for you, you know how to contact me and I have a new phone number I will post for you. May God bring you comfort in the days to come and know that Steve was very loved. You and the rest of the family are in my prayers. I love you all.

Even in your sorrow, I hope you all can hold on to the thought that a life lived with so much love never really ends, but goes on forever in the hearts of those who remember.  We will always remember his character and the joy he shared with us along with a few of his special recipes.

our prayers are with the family. Steve was a wonderful grandfather to Reaghan. She loved him dearly. We will miss him so very much. The wonderful memories we have of the parades in the car he bought for her, the doll house he built and painted and decorated for her, the coins he collected for her and bought for her, the deer jerky, the swing in the back yard he built just for her, her dog Harley, and many more. He was a great step-father and grandfather. We truly hate to see him go and it really hurts to have him gone. Reaghan loves her Papaw.......and we will see him again someday.

   We wanted to let you know that we are thinking of you and our prayers are with you. Steve meant alot to us and could make a mean deer jerky that my kids really loved and oh the fried turkey that would melt in your mouth. We have alot of memories and I'm sorry that we didn't keep in contact more. We may have lost a good man here on earth but heaven has an angel.
